At our gaushala, some of the Gaumata we rescue arrive too weak, injured, or paralysed to stand on their own. Right now, when a cow goes down, our team has no choice but to lift her by hand with ropes, sheets, and sheer effort — often risking further injury to her, and strain to our own caretakers.
A downed cow that cannot be repositioned regularly develops pressure sores, breathing difficulty, and infections within days. Every hour she spends unable to stand safely reduces her chance of recovery. We have managed with makeshift methods for too long, but manual lifting is neither safe nor sustainable for a shelter caring for 100+ Gaumata.
A proper hydraulic lift changes everything. It lets our team raise a downed cow gently, hold her upright for circulation and treatment, and lower her back down without strain or injury — for her, or for us.
